HISTORY
A peruvian port gives its name to this square. In this port happened on de 2nd of May of 1866, the Callao battle, an unforgettable one of the Pacific War. Here is where the captain of the Numancia frigate, Méndez Núñez, said his famous quotation: “ Is better to have honor without boats, than boats without honor”.

This square was in the past the place to do book fairs in Easter. Here was also installed a big Nativity with moving figures.
