According to the tradition, this street owes its name to the 29 of October of 1439. By that time, there was such a flood in the river Manzanares, which the people climbed to the rock that was there exclaiming, «Look at the river!», also it´s said that owes its name simply to the views of the river that had the first houses builted there.
