CALLE DE MADRID

HISTORY:
It is very significant that this road, which bears the name of the city that welcomes it, is the shortest of all the historic old town. It owes its name to the closeness that this street had when the city hall was founded.
As meaningful and relevant information, we can say that one of the symbols of this city is «El Oso y el Madroño». Although popularly known as a bear, in reality it is a female bear, due to its relation with the constellation Ursa Major. This symbol represents the heraldry arms of Madrid. The strawberry tree exceeds in height the bear, and rest its hands on the trunk trying to reach one of the fruits.
